This makes sense!

Technically, the Nordictrack C990 treadmill can be considered one of Nordictrack’s starter treadmills. Proform Pro 2000 is their most affordable model.

Proform’s starter treadmills are made more challenging by the “Pro” series. They have stronger decks, more powerful motors, and better construction than Proform’s starter models.

Technically, these treadmills fall into two price categories: the Nordictrack C990 is a starter treadmill, while the Proform Pro 2000 has a more mid-range model.

Comparison of the Consoles:

Both treadmills have a touch-screen display with multicolor and 7-inch resolutions. However, you might want to be aware of some differences.

Note: The Proform 2000 console was originally only dual-colored, but Proform has updated it.

Also, the Proform 2000 console comes with a tablet holder. It’s just not visible in the above photo.

The display looks pretty much the same, but there are some differences in the layout.

The Proform 2000 console I prefer is more sleek and appealing to me. But that’s just my personal opinion. Both consoles have built-in fans, quick-touch buttons, and speakers.

Nordictrack C990 vs Proform Pro 2000 – Motor Power

The Nordictrack C990 treadmill has a 3.0 HP motor.

This is a great deal considering the price. You also get a lifetime warranty on your motor.

The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill offers a 3.5 HP motor and a lifetime warranty.

Overall, the Proform Pro 2000 treadmill can handle slightly more stress than the Nordictrack C990. This makes it great for multi-user families and runners.

Nordictrack c990 vs Proform 2000: Incline and Decline

Nordictrack C990 has a maximum 12% incline (no fall). This is a good feature and comparable to what you get with starter treadmills.

The Proform Pro 2000 beats the C990 again with a 15% incline or a 3% decline. With the Proform 2000 treadmill’s higher incline, you have more room for growth.

Many people enjoy walking on a gradual decline after interval training. It’s an option that is very appealing.

Proform 2000 vs Nordictrack C990 – Belt Size

Both treadmills have extra-long 60-inch belts. However, the widths of both machines are different. The Proform 2000 belt width is 22 inches, while the Nordictrack C990 belt width is only 20 inches.

The Proform 2000 treadmill has slightly more space for you to stretch out.

There are Differences in Construction Quality

Let’s take a look at rollers for a moment. You know what? Boring right?

You should know that larger rollers reduce static buildup on your treadmill belt, which in turn will prolong its life.

A machine with larger rollers is more durable.

Nordictrack C990 treadmill has 1.9-inch rollers. This isn’t too bad.

The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill has larger 2.5-inch rollers, which makes it more efficient.

This is an example showing how the Proform 2000 Pro treadmill has a better construction quality

Nordictrack C990 vs Proform 2000 – Cushioning

Here is where the Nordictrack C990 treadmill excels over the Proform 2000.

You can adjust the cushioning (Flex Select) to suit your needs. You can adjust the cushioning to provide more protection for your knees, hips, and ankles. You can also adjust the cushioning to give you a road-like feeling.

Proform Pro 2000 doesn’t have adjustable cushioning, but it comes with great Proform Proshox cushioning.

Final Thoughts

Both treadmills offer their benefits, whether it’s the Nordictrack c990 vs Proform 2000.

The Nordictrack C990 is an excellent choice because of its strong motor and extended belt. You also get adjustable cushioning. It’s also more affordable than the Proform 2000 treadmill.

The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill is more durable and has a wider belt. The warranty is longer, and there are more incline/decline options.

It all comes down to your personal preferences, your budget, and your goals.

ProForm 2000 Treadmill Review of Customer:

This treadmill is fantastic! It’s very durable. My wife and I walked between 30-40 miles per week. This thing is powerful. It is very noticeable how weak the other treadmills are when I travel for work. My heart rate increases at the same speed as the incline. Although this model does not require a subscription, it is useless without it. Everything is done manually. The subscription does not include a key to add weight, so the calories you burn on the machine are only a guess. The only problem I have with this console is that the calorie count does not work. However, it’s a guess, so it doesn’t matter. The support team has been very helpful in replacing the parts. Overall, I would purchase this unit again. To be safe, I will likely buy the extended warranty. – Jen Widerstrom

NordicTrack C 990 Treadmill Review of Customer:

This treadmill is impressive. The product was excellent value for money. Since December, I have been using the treadmill when it is raining. Because I live on a dirt and gravel road, I prefer to run on the treadmill over twisting my ankle outside. It took my husband and me about 30 to 45 minutes to put together. The fan is my only complaint. To feel any benefits, you must be up close to it. It is impossible to be as close to the ground if you’re walking or running. Other lifestyle changes and steady walking/jogging helped me lose 38 pounds. This model is a great buy. My friend tried out my treadmill and ordered a NordicTrack last Thursday. – Katie Crewe
